It is also easy to get to being just one hour north of Brisbane and services by the Sunshine Coast Airport from many Australian regional centers and all major cities. The Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast just north and south of Brisbane are both amongst Queensland’s most popular tourist spots, but they have unique things to offer the visitor and are both quite different from each other.
On the Sunshine Coast, there is a lot to do, and a lot of it revolves around the incredible natural beauty of the coast and hinterland. If you would love to, you can enjoy a lot of water sports and opportunities to discover stunning coastal rainforests. It has been known that one of the most popular attractions on the coast for visitors is the internationally famous Australia Zoo. The zoo is filled with native Australian animals such as wombats, crocodiles, koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, Tasmanian devils and much more. By seeing the incredible displays and enclosures, you can easily spend the entire day there. If you get to be lucky, you might even get to see Bob, Bindi Irwin, or Terri around the place as they live on the property and are often busy at work there teaching visitors about how to care for endangered animals.
You will find to the north of the Sunshine Coast the township of Noosa, which is another internationally known location for its stunning beaches. In the Noosa Main Beach, the white, sandy bay is protected and a great place for swimming or learning how to surf. The place which is close by is the Noosa National Park, where koala filled forest meets the deserted beaches. Through to a bluff, you can walk where you will be greeted with beautiful views to the south.
Mooloolaba is another very popular beach on the coast, where there are barbecues and parks, wonderful swimming spots, cafes, restaurants and shopping. Here, you will find a number of night clubs along The Esplanade and this is also one of the centers of nightlife on the Sunshine Coast. Cotton Tree is a great place to stay being nestled between Maroochydore beach and the Maroochy River if you want For something a little quieter.
You will find Buderim, which is a small mountain, up behind Maroochydore and Mooloolaba.A beautiful waterfall park, which makes a lovely place to wander and bath under the waterfall and paddle in the creeks that flow there, can also be found at the top.
